I have looked in the archive and not found my specific question. I have an 84 Yamaha FJ1100, oh yeah! The beast has a hydraulic clutch, I have put new seals in the master and just rebuilt the slave because it was leaking. Now I don't know how the clutch handle should feel, Assuming all the air has been purged, when I squeeze the handle should it stop like a brake lever when it reaches pressure?, or should it bottom out? I can hear the slave working, and I can feel the resistance in the handle, but the lever continues to travel all the way to the grip. either that is correct behavior and my clutch is not disengaging, or I have a bad master and the seals are letting air in, I just don't know how it is suppose to act. IF it is working properly, the next step would be to rebuild my clutch pack and put in new springs at the same time, right? are there more definate symptoms for clutch plates or spring issues? hope someone can shed some light.
