Question V65 Magna 2nd Gear

I Am New To Bikes. I Know This Question Has Been Asked Many Times, But Cant Seem To Find An Answer. My 84 V65 Pops Out Of 2nd Gear, I Would Like To Fix Myself. I Am A Low Buck And Hands On Guy. Any Help Would Be Great.
Thanks

I have 2 v45's one has the same problem
1 the shift forks could be bent.
2 the gears could be chipped/rounded
this means pull the motor split the case depending on the year of bike good parts are hard to get... big job, good luck! thats why I got this. see pic below

Yes unfortunatly you will have to pull the motor down to access the gearbox. You will find any or all of the problems Mastrtech noted and possibly more that cause gears to slip out of sync.

If you're lucky, it's just bent forks; however, depending on how stupidly a previous owner drove it, you made need work on the actual gears.

It's best to check around to see if anybody actually specializes in this kind of thing.
