Default 1980 Suzuki GS550L will not start

I am looking at a 1980 Suzuki GS550L. The bike only has 5700 miles on it and the plugs, plug wires, carborator diaphiams and battery have all be replaced and the bike will not turn over. The bike has been sitting for some time. The only way it will turn over it you run the starter for a long time and have the throttle at full and once started, if the bike is turned off, it will not start up right away. Does anyone have an idea on what the problem could be?? I am new to motorcycles and looking for some help.

Thank you.

Tell the person you are buying it off to start it up every day, and to charge the battery up again. Bikes (especially older ones) so not like to be sat around for long periods of time doing nothing, so there may have been a bit of moisture or dirt in the fuel has settled out with time in the carbs. Put a bit of carb cleaner in the fuel and as long as it is started up regularly these things can tend to go away.

LOL
problems don't go away, you might learn to live with them. To fix a problem, you need to actually do something.

Heck, the bike could have bad compression.
