Unhappy over heated battery

v star 1100 ,while riding the battery gets so hot its deformed the sides . any clues ?

The battery is being overcharged or it has a short insided of it. Replace the battery and use a volt meter to check the charging output.

yep, only reason battery would be getting hot.

A real battery store will do a quick test for free and give you something BETTER than just a clue!

looks like somebody has a regulator stuck in the "on" position.
