Default crankcase

i can't find used parts anywhere for my 1982 cm250c.
i have a cracked crankcase cover on the right side. i was thinking about welding it , tigging . i don't know weather the rod would be a strong enough weld .

Unless I'm mistaken, that cover doesn't bear much stress. You might clean it up well and simply epoxy it inside and out with JB Weld.

Welcome to M-J.

Done correctly TIG is an extremely strong weld...I am an ex trades in this area...but am with Red on this. If the cover takes little stress fix it with a two part epoxy glue...don't forget to roughen the inner surfaces to provide a "key" for the glue.

Very little, as in inch-pounds. Just enough to seal it.

I'd just get it "hand tight and cinched," if that makes any sense.
