| Hi Everyone! I'm new to this forum and would appreciate any help I can get. I recently purchased a 1969 Kawasaki F3 Bushwacker (175cc), 2 stroke, rotary valve motorcycle. The bike was not running when I bought it, but I like to tinker as a hobby so here goes..... The first thing I did was pull the carb and rebuilt it. Upon inspecting the rotary valve port, I noticed that the valve disc had a 1/4" x 1" chink torn out of it. So I pulled it apart and replaced it. After reinstalling everything, I charged the battery and it started right up. I adjusted the idle and thought GREAT! Well, that feeling was short lived, as the bike heated up, it started to bog, and eventually quit running. I then started it again, it ran for a short time and quit. I'm no expert as I am learning as I go. I did notice fuel draining from an overflow tube which exits the carb case cover, could this be a float problem? Electrical problem? Any advise would be appreciated. Ed |

Float badly out of adjustment, doesn't "float" anymore or needle valve isn't closing.

| Hey Kawguy, How is the F3 coming? Did you get it straightened out? Do you by chance have any spare parts. I have an F3 roller, which is missing the upper end. I'm about ten miles east of you in the Ortonville/ Oxford area. Please drop me an email if you have any parts, or want to get a great deal on a spare bike. Thanks, Sparksfarmer |
