Default 1969 Kawasaki Bushwacker.

Hi Everyone! I'm new to this forum and would appreciate any help I can get. I recently purchased a 1969 Kawasaki F3 Bushwacker (175cc), 2 stroke, rotary valve motorcycle. The bike was not running when I bought it, but I like to tinker as a hobby so here goes..... The first thing I did was pull the carb and rebuilt it. Upon inspecting the rotary valve port, I noticed that the valve disc had a 1/4" x 1" chink torn out of it. So I pulled it apart and replaced it. After reinstalling everything, I charged the battery and it started right up. I adjusted the idle and thought GREAT! Well, that feeling was short lived, as the bike heated up, it started to bog, and eventually quit running. I then started it again, it ran for a short time and quit. I'm no expert as I am learning as I go. I did notice fuel draining from an overflow tube which exits the carb case cover, could this be a float problem? Electrical problem? Any advise would be appreciated.
Ed

Yes and no, in that order.

Float badly out of adjustment, doesn't "float" anymore or needle valve isn't closing.

Hey Kawguy,

How is the F3 coming? Did you get it straightened out? Do you by chance have any spare parts. I have an F3 roller, which is missing the upper end. I'm about ten miles east of you in the Ortonville/ Oxford area. Please drop me an email if you have any parts, or want to get a great deal on a spare bike.

Thanks,
Sparksfarmer
