Default Bike dies at idle after riding for a while

Well this has happend a few times before and I am stumped as to what it is.

Today I went for a nice long ride, maybe 60-70 miles non-stop.

On my way home I stopped at a deli to pick up a sandwich, turned off my bike and was inside for maybe 10-15 minutes.

When I came back out it started up and rode fine, the next light I came to was red, and as soon as I pulled in the clutch the revs dropped until they hit zero. I stopped and started the bike up again. It ran for a moment then died again. i started it again, this time with the choke half open, and it just started and died again.

I then primed the carbs (filled the float bowls with gas) and switched to reserve.

Now the bike wouldn't start at all, I kept cranking it and it just wouldn't turn over. I messed with the choke a bit but still nothing.

I ended up having to push it up a hill and jump starting it, where it turned over instantly with no hesitation or anything with the choke closed.

After riding for another 15 minutes or so it would idle fine.

Anyone have any idea what this could be?
