| Depends on the power band, each bike is different. Also it depends on what you are looking for in performance.

| My 2002 GSXR600 is an in-line-4 and loves to rev high. It cruises around 6000 and revs to 13000. It really pulls hard from around 9000 on up. Contrast that with a Harley that revs to about 5000 and probably cruises at 2000. It pulls really hard at 3000. Its best to run them the way they like to run. If it has gobs of torque like a Harley, lug it. If it revs freely and makes power high up, let it rev.
