Default Service time again

My C50 is up for its 14000mile big service. I did the oil, gearbox as well as for the shaft. My question is...why is it gonna cost me $400(Australian) to get the service done. Will the valve clearences cause the cost. I mean what EXACTLY are they supposed to do in the service anyway. Can someone correct this list.
Valve clearence
Oil-final gear and gear box
plugs
Coolant
Brake fluid
Throttle bodies (What the hell is that)
Tighten bolts across bike
Lube cables

But my brake fluid is still clean and a mech told me once the coolant is good for 4 years as they use really good coolant out of the factory.
So no coolant or brakes fluid. What are the mechanics doing to get paid so well. I want their job
