We have a 2003 volusia 800.We bought it with maybe 40 miles on it.Last week it again burned up another starter solenoid..the one before that was burned up about 6 months before that.All we really know is that my husband turns off the bike to open garage door and when he gets back on to start it it goes...click,click,click(like trying to start..then, he smells and sees smoke.The first time it happened he moved the ground wire and that helped for a bit.We were going to replace all battery cables and starter cables, but mechanic at motorcycle dealership said nothing was wrong with them..We thought it might be the starter, but someone pulled it apart and said nothing was wrong with it..Please help with any suggestions on what could be the problem or how to fix.
