Default Great gsx600f question...think your slick?? HA!

1991 Suzuki Katana GSX600f - 5500 miles

Do you know the factory pilot screw setting? The manual says PRE-SET. I just cleaned my carbs, the bike runs now. But the RPMs hang at around 3000 - 2500 at almost every setting I screw it to. Tommorow, I will take every reading of the bike from 1.5 turns out all way to 3.5 turns out. So far the lowest idle was around 2300 RPMs. They stay pretty steady. I have a Pilot Screw adjustment tool that is pretty hard to work. And I want to balance the carbs with a Motion Pro Economy carb stick but the instructions say the bike should not be idle more than 3000 RPMs before balancing or the murcury may be sucked into the engine. Sometimes when the engine is warm, I try to rev it, sometimes the engine dies. Any suggestions? Procedures? Should I go about this in a different way? How much would it cost for a mechanic to take a look at it and adjust it? Thank you very much for your time. thegrovedeli@yahoo.com
