Default 2006 M50 Valve Adjustments

Looking for some guidance on how to adjust the Valvles on my 2006 Susuki Boulevard M50. I am familar with adjusting valves on my dirt bikes and am looking for some proceedure on how to get the caps off and toleracnes for the valves.
I had the tank off and tried to get to the adjustment srews, but just couldn't get the caps off. What speacial incantaion, proceedure, and special tools should one have. Any help would be appreaciated.

Buying a shop manual would be your best bet.

There's a how to in the sticky section of the M50 forum:

Also if you want a shop manual-see my post further down in this forum titled "Service Manual".
