So when I dropped my bike during unloading I put a ¾” cut in the seat along with the fairing damage. My plan is to pull enough staples to access the cut from the backside so when I sew it up it looks halfway decent without strings hanging out and whatnot then I will cap it with duct tape (from the inside) to prevent water introduction into the seat foam. My question is; What staples should I use to close her back up? The shortest I can find are 3/8” but this still sounds too long to me. Also what staple gun would you recommend? I have done a few seats with a hand staple gun and half of the staples don’t seat all the way so you have to pull them and do it again so I would like to upgrade to pneumatic or electric.
