Morning everyone! Hopefully you can give me some insight on what to look for or try myself before I get a mechanic to tackle this problem. When I start my Bandit, cold start, all the usual things apply, choke on, start up, let circulate for a few minutes while I get my gear and garage sorted out, then head off. I haven't had any problems at all, it starts up quite easily. The problem arises when I am starting the Bandit already warmed up. It's sat for about 15 mins while I'm out for coffee for example. When I go back to the bike, I start the bike but it immediately stalls. I usually end up having to restart the bike about 6 or 7 times and really racing the engine to keep the idle speed up so it won't stall. I've tried opening up the choke to see if that helps but same thing, it will stall within seconds of starting. So far the only thing that has worked, maybe 50% of the time, is to adjust the idle so they are much higher, then when the bike is warmed up, turn it back down to the regular idle speed. That's the best way I can explain it, it's a bit frustrating that this is happening. I was out and about last week for about a 3 hour ride through town with friends at various stops and to have to fight with starting the bike every time is a bit embarrassing. |
