| Was driving it the other day and it just quit like i turned the motor off. Tried to restart it finally it did drove about 2 blocks and stalled when let off the throttle. finally got it home pushing it about 3miles. Battery was dead bought a new battery and let charge overnight installed it and rode around later that night for about an hour went to turn down my street turned the blinker on it killed the motor. Called mechanic said he thought could be carb said about 1300 to fix. DONT THINK THIS IS THE CASE. But now it wont start set idle up to see if this will work does for a few minutes then acts like throttle is stuck so i have to turn back down cant get it to crank back.

| $1300?!?! Don't bother calling that crook again. It does sound like a fuel issue. You probably need to start some troubleshooting, beginning with the petcock, fuel filter and lines. Check for blockage, damage, etc. Check in the tank (not with a match!) for rust. After that, it's take the carbs apart and clean them. Keep us posted on your progress and we can help. Welcome to M-J.

| same thing happened to me on my v45 it turned out to be the coils. try putting bike in dark place, garage at night and fire it up with no lights on anywhere you can see the coils shorting out. thats how we figured it out.

This sounds a LOT like an electrical problem. On a 24 year old bike, loose/corroded connections can give you fits.
