| The radiator fan on the 2006 C-50T I have seems to be running more often lately while cruising. The fan does cycle on and off though. The temps here in the early evenings (my favorite riding time) stay around 68 to 73 degrees. I read that fuel injected motorcycles do run somewhat hotter. I did check the coolant level while hot and topped it up with a 50\50 mix. The radiator has no air blockages as far as I can see. The motor also seems "mechanically loose" when warm. I've never owned a water cooled bike, maybe I'm just comparing how this runs to an automotive type engine. Sooo.. the question would be; Does a fan running a lot while cruising at speed indicate a problem with the bike?

| The only time I've heard the fan on C50 come on is when I was standing in stop and go traffic for a half hour on a 85+ degree day. I've never heard it while at road speed, or even city street speed. Maybe a build up of dust and bug carcasses in the radiator? When the dealer did the valve adjustment last year, one of the hoses didn't quite seat right -- I caught a slight whiff of coolant whenever I shut if off. He took it all apart again, cleaned, reassembled and pressure tested it and all was well. To his credit, there was no charge for the second round of work.

| ... ![]() | cooling fans are mostly useless when you're riding at more than 25mph or so, since the airflow from the road speed is more than what a fan could possibly muster up. if the fans are coming on when you're riding, there's a problem somewhere that you should look at. maybe the bike overall is running too lean, causing the engine temp to get rather high, and thus forcing the fans to kick in even at speed? or the temp sensor is hosed...

| Thank you for the replies Bud and Greg... The bike is running better now after topping up the coolant. I think maybe the oil got extra hot the other day from me practicing too much...
