|  Short Term Storage
Hi, I getting ready to ship my '02 Katana to Japan this week. It'll be in storage for about 2 months before I get there. It's got like 3,600 miles on it. I've heard a bunch of methods and read articles on storing a bike. My question is, what exactly should I concentrate on doing? I have to drain the gas, because I won't be able to ship it due to hazardous/explosive liquids restrictions. 1. What's the best way to drain the gas? Approx. 1 gallon in the tank now. 2. Should I change the oil? 3. What about the tank? Do I have to worry about it rusting in 2 months? I heard that I have to put oil in the tank, then I was told that I don't have to. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, -Slim- |
