Default big problems replacing oil seal, please advise

I'm replacing the clutch rod seal on my 1981 GS450S. The seal is still not removed, and it is completely destroyed. What I mean is, I tried absolutely everything I had...I tried knocking it loose by beating in the outer edge, I tried prying underneath it, I tried drilling a hole in it and pulling with a screw, I tried pulling a part of the torn metal with a wrench, I tried EVERYTHING. The seal has a lip all the way around it that's holding it in. The outer part is now absolutely torn to pieces (literally, there's holes that I've torn out of the metal shell of the seal), and it still will not come out. I think my only option now is to use a dremel tool to (very carefully) grind away that inner lip so the damn thing will slide out. I need ideas fast. I've driven myself completely mad working at it, and have gotten nowhere.

Also, once the seal is out, is there a certain way to put the new one in? Thanks!!
