Not really any new info but more an update on the problem..... I get the distinct feeling of...as apposed to hearing... when in first and second at about 25 to 40 klms that the chain is "skipping" or "jumping" the cogs slightly....(not the right explanation but as close as I can get)....you know the feeling of a clunking rather than the sound of it. The closest thing I can think of is when you have a bicycle gear not quite engaged and the gears are not in line......(maybe I just answered my own question????) This tends to get covered when going any faster as road noise and feed back from the road in general crowd it out. Now I have never replaced a chain.....lucky me I guess... but I am now beginning to think that the chain may be damaged if this continues no matter what I put on it. Any guys have a similar problem? Regards Steve Just thought.... if the gears are out of alignment than there should be scuffing on one or both cogs I will check! |
