|  '96 1400 Intruder, backfireing (merged)
I dug this thing out of mothballs (sat for 4 years.) It ran perfectly prior to sitting and had all it's fluids changed prior to being stored. I've been thru the carbs, changed the plugs, it runs, but backfires on steady state or decel. Under power it seems to pull just fine. The rear plug looked good, front one was pretty black & sooty, even after the change on fresh plugs. Seems to be the front cylinder causing the problem. Can the compression release get stuck somehow? Or a coil pack die? Any bright ideas what's next to dig into? Thanks in advance. |
