Greetings all, I just discovered this forum and hope to be a contributing member! Just today, I bought a 1969 TS250 Savage as a restoration project for my son and I...although I think I'll be the one doing most of the work! The problem is that it isn't running...no big deal yet, but what IS a problem is that the wiring has been more or less torn out/cut off and I have no idea where to even begin restoring!!! Is there an ONLINE manual somewhere, or a schematic that I could view to get an idea what I'm up against? I just want to get a battery into it for now to make sure that I have a spark, then I can concentrate on the carburetor, oil-injection, etc... The guy I bought it from said that I could run it WITHOUT the oil-injection pump, as long as I ran pre-mixed gas/oil (he suggested 20:1 or 30:1), does this sound kosher? I've never owned a 2-stroker before, both my other bikes (CT90 and TW200) are thumpers and as such, don't need oil-injection or pre-mixing! I live in Southwestern BC, Canada...about 60 miles east of Vancouver - near some of the BEST off-roading available on this earth! I started off-road biking (in earnest) about three years ago, but I used to tiddle around in the hills near our place while I was growing up in the 70's. At 46, I'm not a kid anymore, but I still have a riot riding around the 1000's of miles of logging roads we have up here! Hope to be spending more time in this forum! Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer! |
