| ... ![]() | heya guys, ok, need some quick advice. i'm about to go out and buy a bike stand - the type that keeps the bike vertical and stable for wrenching on stuff. now, i see plenty of the types that support the swingarm at the tail end / sprocket end, and i guess they'd be good for most work - EXCEPT shock work. i've seen some stands in photographs that support at the swingarm pivot, leaving the shock with no load on it. are those easy to find? should i try to get one of those, or stick with the more common one? reason i ask is that the local dealers don't have the pivot-supporting kind in their catalogs (being in Canada, my mail-order options are limited), so i'm not sure if i should hunt for the pivot type and not bother with the common one that is so easily available here. hurry!!! |

| I use a floor jack and wood blocks. Should run you about $50 - $100 USD, depending on which one you settle on. I also have a custom-made (for back in the day) old school GSX-R frame lift, which accomplishes the same thing. It was made by Basani out of exhaust pipe material. Pretty sweet I do say. - Nut

| Scootworks - Motorcycle Lifts by Scootworks I also found this but it's for Buell bikes CenterStand and SuperJack Lifts for Harley-Davidson and Other Cruiser Motorcycles or this one=the picture seems to show what you want although the description doesn't specify Motorcycle race stand ps. glad I have a cruiser-just a simple hydrolic lift($50 @ Pep Boys) gets the whole bike off the ground.
