Exclamation 2001 V-Star Classic need brighter headlight

Got a 2001 V-star 1100 classic and have noticed that head light out-put is sub par and that other bikes I have ridden have far stronger lights.

With that said, I want to put a new brighter light on and have a couple of questions.

Are there any suggested lights out there?

Will a stronger brighter light require electrical up grades or will current electrical system support a brigher light.

Is installation of this new light difficult.

Any comments will be greatly appreciated, thanks again.

I think your bike takes a H4 bulb, My GZ250 takes a H4 and I replaced it with a 9003 "Cool Blue" automotive bulb. The bulb has a blue tint to it that makes it a cleaner white light. I have had this bulb in for 15,000 miles and have had no problems with it.

Well there's that and the fact the headlight may be aimed improperly, it has been known happen. Search for "head light aiming" and you should find something. IF that doesn't work, try a different headlight.

When I got my M50 the light sucked-I reaimed it-huge difference. I then installed Silver Star H4 bulb (everybody here said it was awesome) only little better than re-aiming.

btw-when I re-aimed I set it as high as I could without getting flashed by oncomming traffic-now not much use for high beem.

My g/f for her 650 added those whatever hoods to the top of the light and she said that added more brightness. That's just an addition I wanted to add to the others here.
