Sounds like it is possibly starving for fuel. Try checking filter and make sure tank is venting.

i have had a simalar problem, but it was the wiring, was ur bike wet when u did it? its most likely to be to do with the throttle and the carby, if it happens again, stick it in third and stall it, besides this im stumped

With no spark an engine shall shut down immediately, but I've seen some 2 stroke cases that will keep going even after turning the ignition OFF. This was due to the overheating of the engine. Did you check your engine insides. You may have some carbon deposits from oil burning that will act as a glow plug. This will also prevent you from running at high rpm and will destroy your engine shortly. Check your engine temperature, the ignition timing, oil mixture, gas octane and make sure everything is as required.

I just bought a 1969 ts250 for 100 bucks and a case of beer. Got it to fire a couple times now i'm in the middle of a full overhaul. I guess the vintage part of the old beast struck me so now it's gettin' a fresh bore and piston, newer clutch basket and plates, newer clutch plate, and a carb rebuild. after it's runnin' good I may look into restoring the whole bike. Total investment $450.00 cdn not bad eh!

And this would be why some of us have asked numerous times for threads to be locked after a period of hibernation.
