Default Possible issue with '99 GSX-R 750

Hello, new to the forums, haven't been here more than an hour and I'm already gonna be asking questions haha.

I recently got my SRAD back together (after having been apart for 6 months after I wrecked it), put some fuel in it, etc etc and it fired right up (to my supprise and delight) however after running for a minute or two I noticed a slight bit of smoke coming from the air intake tubes and little from under the gas tank. None coming out of the exhaust so it seems to be originating from the throttle bodies. My question is: Is this due to the fact the bike sat (it didn't have gas in it, but maybe oil accumulation?) for almost 6 months and this is anything burning off? Or is this a clue to something much worse?

Thanks for the help guys, I wanna get out and ride!

As a follow up, I found the problem, it was some spilled oil between the 4 pipes of header (before they went into the collector) and the smoke was from the oil burning off.

Took the bike for a quick spin today, almost spilled it coming around a corner (stupid gravel from the snow) but didn't. Man I missed riding!

I bassically went no more than 2 blocks. Went roughly 3 MPH in the corners (with NO leaning, both legs down practically walking the bike) and not leaving 1st gear in the straight aways.

After all that I still had the back tire start to slide out from under me twice. Thankfully I had my feet out so it was just a matter of letting off the throttle and going slower.

The roads were dry (very nice snow wise) but covered in gravel and salt.

You have to test ride the bike early in the year to get the bugs out, you know. Even if it's only a mile or two. A 200 mile jaunt is even better to test out the bike, with a snowsuit if necessary.

Heh, 35 degrees out and I'm riding with a group in a hoody, they all have fancy textiles and bundles of clothes.

Course, that was only because I left the house (bikes at work) without my riding jacket... which would have been nice... Very thick leather keeps you well insulated >.>

I never knew people ride in that cold of weather. I might have to try it. I miss riding too much in the winter to have to wait til summer
