Default Pilot Screw Adjustment for 91 gsx600f???

I cleaned my carbs and accidently took out the pilot screw and in my manual it says not to mess with the pilot screw because it is set by the factory. I messed up. Please, let me know if anyone knows how many turns back the screw needs, I am trying it with 1 1/2 turns back and I will see if it works. Maybe the pilot screw isn't the only thing messed up. If it might be somthing else please let my know your opinion. And if anyone has the specifications for the MIKUNI BST33SS 44c10 that would be great if i could get it e-mailed to me at thegrovedeli@yahoo.com. There is not much material on this carb and I would like to make this carb spec available on a website. Thank you very much for your time.

Default Air or Fuel screw

This screw might also be called the air screw or the fuel screw too.

Dont listen to that crap in the manual! You can mess with the pilot screws all you want. Factory settings are probably 1.5 turns out. I'd suggest 2.5 to 3 turns out. Just be careful when screwing them in, just lightly seat them. That point on the end gets broken off easily and is a beotch to get out.

with the engine running turn them in listening for a reduction in RPM's then back it out until you get your highest idle.

Default Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the replys, I have set the carb to 2.75 turns back and after a year it starts up without a problem. But, it idles between 2000 and 2500 rpm, and my choke cable is %%%%ed up, something is wrong with the spring. It won't return. I bought this katana a year ago, and it hasn't started since. I had to clean the carb. This was my first carb cleaning. I learned a lot. Thakns again!

If you turn your screw back in it will lower your idle and shouldnt really effect the performance of your bike. Unless if your idle is high because your choke is stuck half on or so.
