Default battery charger

Is it alright to charge a 12 volt battery on a "10 amp, 12 volt deep cycle battery charger?" I thought I remember reading somewhere that you shouldn't exceed a 2 amp charger.

A 10-amp charger is fine to quickly recharge a dead battery, but do not leave it on too long or you will overcharge the battery and boil out the water. The 2-amp charger will charge the battery more slowly, so you get a better deep-charge, while the larger charge will just give you a top charge to get the bike started.

I use a Battery Tender Plus 1.5amp smart charger. You
attach the pos and neg lead to the battery and leave
that on the bike. Then when you need to charge or if
your going to be putting the bike up for a bit you just
plug in the bike to the Tender. You can find reviews
all on the net about using them on a motorcycle. No
need to worry with over charging becuase they will
shut off on its own and come on its on. Bout 30 bucks
on ebay.
