Default Oil Filter Leaks

Anyone else had problems with Oil Filters on their '06 C90T?
I've been back to the bike shop (not suzuki) 3 times for leaking oil filters. The first time, they used a performance or Perform oil filter? Leaked all over my garage floor after getting it home. The guy drove out to my house and swapped it with another of the same brand and it worked fine.

Had my oil changed about 600 miles ago, with a Performance Products (different brand) filter. Was fine till yesterday when I noticed an oil drip on the garage floor. He swapped it again with an Emgo so I'm waiting to observe the results.

Another odd thing, after he swapped out the filter and topped off the oil, the oil light will stay on until the engine starts. I'm pretty sure I remember both the Oil and the FI Lights going out before I started the bike? Was I hallucinating?

Chances are the shop left a gasket from the old filter under the new one. I've never seen a filter of any brand leak unless this happened.

Oil lights (the sensors, actually) measure pressure, not volume, and therefore stay lit until the engine is started. The EFI light should be the same.

That's the only time I've seen it happen too but this was not the case. I was right next to him when he removed and changed it. Actually, in both cases, the oil filter had worked it's way loose (the first time more so than the second).

The EFI light shuts off after it pressurizes before it starts, it has always done that. I thought the oil light did too but I can't remember for sure.

If the filter is too loose or to tight it will leak, no matter what brand. My buddy has a 1500LC, and the first time he changed his own oil he overtightened it and it leaked. Now everytime he changes it he leaves it too loose and it starts leaking a few days later. I always laugh and twist it back on for him.
I am pretty sure the oil light stays on until the bike starts. If does on all of mine, anyways, though I do not have a 1500LC/C90.

If I'm not mistaken, rule of thumb is a quarter turn after it contacts the base. It hasn't leaked since he replaced it the other day. But the other one didn't start leaking until after about 600 miles. Then it was loose. But I know it was tight when it was installed.

I don't think the oil light is a big thingy as long as it goes off. It may be just one of those things that I really didn't pay attention to before but since having leaky filters, I get paranoid.

Most of them say right on the filter. It's usually 3/4 to one turn.
