Default need help fitting carbs to an 1127 from a gsxr750

Hi....
I purchased an 1100 (1127) katana engine off of ebay that was built by V&H.
It had a bad crank, so over the past few months I have been rebuilding it.
It is all back together and pretty much done. It has been ported and polished, hi-perf cams, and has the 1216 piston kit. The valves have been done as well.....oversize from stock, but not sure how much over because I didn't measure them.

Anyway, I am pretty well mechanically inclined and can usually figure things out with time.....but time is not something I have alot of these days.

So here is the problem. I wanted to ditch the stock 34mm carbs and install a set of Mikuni flatslide 40mm carbs that I picked up. I think they came of an 86 or 87 gsxr750 slingshot.
The carbs are mint and jetted, but they don't line up with my intake boots on the 1100. Obviously, the 36mm boots won't fit the carbs even if they did.
My question....will the intake boots on the 750gsxr fit on the 1127? And if they do fit, will the spacing be the same? The 2 center ones line up, but not the ends.It is off by about a 1/4 in. Could the angle/curve of the 750 intake boot be different? I hate to buy a set in case not. Anyone ever fit these carbs to an 1127?

Also, I would be willing to trade the 40mm carbs for a set of 38's that will fit on the 1127, if anyone is interested. Mind you, they have to be mint....clean....and preferably jetted for me to trade even.

I would also consider a set of Keihin's, of course....if anyone has a set pretty cheap....or willing to take my mikunis on trade.

email me at michael.dion@cgocable.ca if anyone can help me out.

Thanks
