I have a 96 Katana 600 when ever I hit a bump or under hard acceleration above 6k or 7k RPM the bike will randomly backfire. It's pretty predictable when I am accelerating hard and hit a bump it will do it. If I am cruising on the interstate and the RPM's are above 6 or 7k it will every once in a while backfire when I hit some of the larger bumps. Doesn't seem to do it in the lower RPM range. Also when I tried passing a couple of cars the other day and I got on real hard it started backfiring alot so I got off it a little and it was better. Today I took the tank off and made sure my battery wires were tight, the ground was tight, I took the plug wires out and made sure the plugs were tight, I made sure that the wires were in good shape, and made sure the wires from different coils were not touching. It is still doing it. Any suggestions?
