Default Loose Bolts

Well, it finally happened. I lost the two bolts on the bottom rear fender that hold the taillight assembly.

I always go over my bike (I thought pretty well) before each ride. However, I must have missed checking those bottom two bolts.

Right before a ride this weekend, I just happened to brush against the taillight while cleaning up the M...and it moved. I thought to myself...I don't remember that being loose yesterday.

Sure enough as soon as I got on the floor and looked up I could see a hole on each side where a bolt used to be. Not wanting to drive the 5 miles to the dealership to pay for two bolts, and preferring a quick fix I found two battery bolts. These held down the terminal connections on an old ride on mower. They fit perfectly, but I also added a lock washer to each one too, in the hopes it will stay on longer.

I guess I'll have to keep an eye on those too now.
