I bought a non genuine sissy bar a few months back and now I can see the beginnings of rust appearing inside the head of the hex bolts. Someone said to clean it out and then put some petroleum jelly (vaseline?) inside the head of the bolt to protect it. Is this the go or is there any other method I could use..much appreciated!
