| Seat Tester | I am looking to replace my tail lamp and turn signal indicator lamps with LED's. I am seeing a 1156 style and 1157 style. I didn't see anything indicating a difference on the bulbs or housings. Did I miss something? What is the difference between the two? Thanks, Dan |

| 1156 = single filament 1157 = double filament If the bub is used for example stop light and turn signal..you need a double filament 1157. Check your old one to see if there are 1 or 2 wire like filaments inside the bulb to know for sure. Have a good day! Jim

| Rear turn signals and the tail light are 1157, the front turn signals are 1156. Besides the extra filament in the 1157 the base has an extra nub, so it will not physically go into the 1156 socket.
