Default Horn that wouldn't toot!

Got a problem with my horn. As the thread titles says, it ain't tooting.

All it does is like "Pong". I removed it the other day, cleaned it up a little and blew compressed in and it tooted like iot never tooted before! But it's back to the pong pong now.

Just wondering if there's a cure for this. I'll of course buy a new horn, one that toots but is there something I can do to prevent a tooting horn from loosing its toot?

Louis...didn't your mother ever tell you it's not polite to toot your own horn?

Tim, no comments

Don, yeah, it's bloody humid here.

Is there something I can do to prevent this?

Make sure the horn is installed in such a way that the moisture has a way out.

It's located just behind the radiator and mounted vertically. That's how it came from the dealer.

hmm is there anyway to point it down toward the ground more?

Is it the small little beep beep horn? is there room inside to tape a silicon absorption pack?

Yes, those small disc like beep beep horns.

Room? I seriously doubt it...

Is the disk inside plastic or can it absorb moisture. If it can then maybe you should dry it out with a hair dryer. If the wife will lend you hers.

forget the little horn and mount a bullhorn on the handlebars. Then you can just scream into it and get your point across.

It started working again on the way back from work. But it,s pretty unreliable. I'll stop by an auto parts store this week to see if I can find one to replace mine with. Dealer wants $35+

It would be fun to ride with you during your horn testing. I'm sure pedestrians and other vehicles are entertained as well.

No pedestrians around on some of my commute. Cars were far enough

You used up all the air!!
That's why it worked when you hit it with the air compressor.
It just needs to be refilled.
