| hi, I just bought an 85 suzuki madura 1200cc 6sp shaftdrive. After having it a few weeks i noticed it seems to run hot. Before I could check into that problem I ran into a knew one. The bike runs fine when its cold, but after riding it and the engine gets hot, my tranny starts slipping until finally I have no gears at all. If i leave it cool down for a while it starts up and rides fine until it gets hot again. I changed oil, secondary and final gear oil with out any luck. any ideas what might be the problem? |

| first off, is it water cooled or oil cooled? Make sure the radiator isn't plugged. As for your new problem, sounds like you have a wet-plate clutch. I'd do an oil change with the new clutch and be sure to get the right spec oil for it.

| I agree. It sounds like the clutch is simply worn out. I don't believe new oil will help, though. While you should change the oil, it will likely cause more slippage.
