Blade actually answered the question, indicating a blown chain at 5k miles -but he didn't mention his maintenance intervals in those 5k miles. Bayside bought a Nighthawk apparently suffering from poor chain maintenance, so really can't make a call based on that. Anyone else have experience with a) chain wax b) on a sport bike and c) longer high speed rides?

| Anyone else have experience with a) chain wax b) on a sport bike and c) longer high speed rides? Yes and no. I used to use spray on chain lube. Then I had three different shaft drive bikes. Now back to a chain and I love my pro Oiler, thread linked here. http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...pro-oiler.html |

| So, Karl - the question would be... when you were using chain wax - what type of riding were you doing and how did that relate to the durability of the chain wax v. other lubes?

| thanks for the great feedback guys. o-ring chain lube choices have perplexed me for too long now. have been using STP chain lube because of the availability. slings a little but seems to attract a lot of grit and grime. it's a lithium grease based product. might opt for some dry lube... think someone said honda lube? |
