I have an 84 RM250 that keeps fouling plugs. I have lowered the main jet a couple of times and it last a little longer but between plugs but still fouls them. I was wondering if the pilot jet could be the problem. The last time I rode it I was waiting for some to catch up so I stop and just kept reving it to keep the RPMs up( it will not idle and from what I have read in the Clymer manual a 250 should not idle ???). After a minute the thing just started to bog down and then died. I tried pulling the plug and cleaning it but that was it. I had to push it home. Could the pilot cause that to happen? Also what about the CDI? I know nothing about them but I was wondering if they can cause the spark to go weak?
