Default Help W/ Bandit

Hey, this is my first post, i jsut bought a 1998 suzuki bandit 600. It works great, except the turn signals dont work. the fuse is fine, and i think it might be the switch, what should i do? Also, when the kickstand goes down, the switch depressed, and it shuts off. is it safe to tape it closed? Umm, i think thats pretty much it, thanks a lot in advance, oh and i have one question, my mom doesnt really want me to ride it, and neither does my girlfriend. I jsut bought it, and went through the title signing process, the registration runs out next month, is there anyway, if i sell it, to change the title again>
thanks a lot,
mike

What does your mother have to do with anything? Are you a minor living at home? Get some training if you haven't already, wear the proper gear and ride.

If you're saying that the bike shuts off when the signal switch is depressed, there's something seriously wrong. If it was a simple short the fuse would blow and the engine would be unaffected.

If you're talking about some other switch with the kickstand thing, it might be normal. Please clarify.

As for the title thing, you may be able to request a duplicate. Check with your DMV.

The kickstand problem could be a safity switch the put on some of the bikes that way you cannot start the engine with kitsatand down. I wouldn't duct tape it it is a safety device.

1) Signals don't work. If the bulbs are okay and so are the fuses, it could be the relay.

2) Kickstand down will turn off the engine if you are not in Neutral. That's normal and must remain that way. If you are in Neutral and the engine dies when you put the kickstand, you might have a short somewhere.

Good luck.
