Default Spark plug change.

Could use some info.
Bike's a 2005 Suzuki Boulevard C50.
Booklet that came with the bike states that the gas tank must be removed to replace the plug (s).
Will all the gas have to be removed from the tank before it's disconnected from the fuel line?
If so what's the best method for doing that?
Also, any other way to change the plugs without removing the gas tank? Seems like mucho work for an otherwise small task.
Please advise.
Thanks

Set the petcock (I assume it has a conventional petcock) to 'on' or 'res', not 'prime'. Removing the tank is usually quite simple, involving a few hoses and an electrical plug. It makes life much easier for maintenance.
