Default katana problems

I drive a 1998 Katana 600. I was riding it to class the other day, and when I stopped to park it, it made some gurgling noises. When i got back on it and rode back from class it would make a low rumbling noise from idle to about 4500 rpm and it was running at a really low engine speed and was hard to get going faster. There wasn't any leakage anywhere on the bike. I'm thinking my carbs might just be clogged; does anybody have any idea what they think it could be?

You say it was running at a low engine speed, but you got it up to 4500. Was it running on three cylinders? Was it knocking? I'm just not sure what a "low rumbling noise" would be.

It idled at a low speed, and adjusting the idle screw did hardly anything; when it was up all the way the fastest it idles was 2000 rpm, and it would normally idle at 4000 with that setting. I don't know what engine knocking sounds like, and I don't know what it would sound like if only three cylinders were running.
