 |  Bike running rough, help got a 78 gs550 from a buddy of mine. Its been sitting for a few years. Cleaned the carbs, put them back on. Now it only stays running at higher rpms. as soon as the rpms drop it shuts off. any ideas?

 | can you start the bike with the electric start or do you kick it over? Could be a electrical problem, the regulator/rectifyer. The stator went on my 83'gs550e, and it would blow lots of fuses, it didn't have the power to stay running, but at high rpms it would run when it was crankin out more power. if you have a maual and a good meter you should be able to narrow down on the prob travis
