Default Cleaning Forks (GS550)

I have a little bit of oxidation and rust spots on the top of my forks. I think there is some near where the bottom fork travels. I'd like to remove the spots. I know that using sand paper will damage the seal and the fork. Is there anything that I can do/use to clean it all up?

Thanks

Fine steel wool and some WD-40. If the rust spots are superficial, try WD-40 and a rag first.

Just did that on an '82 Magna and it worked great.

600 grit sandpaper. Get it wet with some solvent or light oil.
