Default bad idle

Hey guys, took my carbs off to clean them after sitting for a while. Everything went ok, nice and clean, however, when I put the carbs back on it idles up and down and when I give it throttle the rps come down real slow. Seems like too much or too little air. I tried adjusting the air/fuel screws on the bottom of carbs, but same thing. Any ideas ??? Thanks in advance for any help

P.S. The air/fuel screws on the bottom of the carbs are a real pain in the *** to get to. So if your going to adjust them you will need an angle.

It would help us to know what kind of bike you have. If there are vacuum hoses did you reinstall then? Are the floats set right?

Did you get the carbs back to their original settings, or are they all bunged up?

The bike is a '94 Suzuki GSX600F Katana. The floats were working perfectly. Vacuum hoses?! what do those look like?

You'll need to find the original specs for screws. The question isn't whether the floats "work", but whether they're set to the correct height.

Anyone have baseline settings for that bike?

*** I FOUND THE PROBLEM***
The butterflies were hammered. Way off settings. Reset them to normal cleaned and added gasked dressing to the vacuum diaphrams then BOOM. Fired right up. Had to adjust the settings a bit but that was the problem. Thanks for all your help and I hope this thread can help someone else

Huh? You mean you were into the synchronizer screws?

Buy a manual, the best investment you can make.

You really oughtta get them synchronized with gauges. You can't see or hear how far off they are, and it's crucial for a good idle.
