Default 05 Gixxer Clutch problem

Hello there, new to the forum. If you folks could help with my problem I would greatly appreciate it. alittle long sorry.

Anways, I have an 05 Suzuki GSX-R600 with about 2000 miles on it. I have to admit I broke it very gently changed the oil etc. But have road it fairly hard since about 1200 miles. My problem is at about 1600 miles my clutch suddenly stopped engaging while riding. (I was also trying to do wheelies when it happened .) Anyways I brought it to the shop and they quikly adjusted the clutch and everything was ok. Now about 300 miles later (Not doing wheelies anymore) My clutch is slowing losing grip when taking it to the 10k-13k rpm range. I can feel and hear the clutch loose grip at these high rpm's and it is getting worse. *when at these high rpm's the engine just revs between 11k and 13k. hard to explain in writing*

Am I riding too hard? Is my clutch toast? I have friends that abuse the hell out of their bikes and ride alot harder than I and have had 0 problems. Thanks for your help.

What oil are you using? If your oil is burnt or worn, it's not performing like when it was new. If you've been exceptionally hard on it, or your shift technique allows a lot of slip and other abuse, it may be damaged.

I'd change the oil, adjust the clutch yourself (get a manual and read it), and see where that gets you.

thanx for the post. I took the clutch half a turn out and seemed to fix the problem. I will change the oil today. I am using Motul 5100 10w/40 Sythetic Blend right now.

There should be a bit of slop in the cable to allow the clutch to fully engage. Read your manual.

Hand lever and cable are fine. ^^^^I adjusted the Screw located under the dust cap on the clutch itself. Half a turn out.
