Default 2002 Suzuki Shadow VS800 no fire to coil

The bike turns over, so getting power. I tested the wire going to the coil but there is no spark coming out of the coil wire. I first tried a screw driver against the metal, then I tried spark plugs in each coil wire. There still is no fire. I replaced the starter relay, so before I go buying the ignitor is there a way to run hot power to the coil and double check for spark. I know like I said the wire there is hot, but just for my sake I would like to know how to run a hot wire to the coil and where should I run it from. if you have any suggestions on what my problem could be your opionions will be greatly appreciated.

Default My mistake on what the bike type was

My bike is a 2002 Suzuki Intruder VS800. I have the coil wires hooked up to two new spark plugs and just laying on the outside of the bike so i can see if it has spark or not.

but if the bike is turning over, have lights and all, why wouldn't it then not have enough power to push through the coils, to the plugs and show some type of spark?

hope this gives you more of my problem? thanks for your help. All of our motorcycle shops are pretty much destoryed due to Hurricane Katrina so thats why im trying to get it running on my own.

will be looking for your reply. again thanks so much
