Default Suzuki 1500 stalls unexpectedly

I posted this on the cruiser site and it was suggested I post here too. I have a 2003 Suzuki 1500 Intruder with about 4000 miles. I have had the reg. servicing. Yesterday in about 65 degree weather I was in stop and go traffic for about 20 min when the bike just died. Plenty of fuel and oil. I immediately pulled in the clutch and tried to start if jumped backfired initially started and then died when I went into gear. After this it would not start. Initially it tried to turn over but then the starter couldn't turn the engine over. After about 30-40 min when cool, it started. Any ideas?

I've noticed on my bike the kick-stand started slipping down. Happens periodically during turns for some reason.

Default Too hot??

Yeah, I thought it was too hot as well, but I have ridden in the summer with no problems. This was a perfect day. The only problem was the stop and start traffic. It is not unlikely that while commuting to work that I will be in some traffic. But, I can't have my bike konking out with so little strain. Does anyone think that it could be some problem with the air cooling system (faulty oil pump, etc.)?

Well if it's still on warranty I would get to the dealer ASAP, could be a cooling problem. Was the fan coming on ?

how's your bike cooled? my bike is air cooled, and it stalls in stop-and-go traffic all the time.

COIL.

Sounds like you have a high voltage leak that gets worse when the coil gets hot.
