HELP! with RM100 IMS tank fitting exspirience

Greeting all cycle engineers. I am a recently retired Coast Guardsmen and getting back into dirt riding with my new DRZ400 in the deserts of Mohave County Arizona. My problem is I recently bought a used Suzuki RM100 that I am modifying for trail use for visiting friends and relatives who want to follow on a small bike that is not wonky. One of the MODs is the purchase and install of a bigger tank for range. The only tank I could find is the IMS 2.4 gallon that is made for the Kawasaki KX100 which should fit the 03/04 Suzuki RM100 as the RM100 was made by Kawasaki (KX100) labeled for Suzuki (RM100). Anyway I have seen FOR SALE adds for RM100 with the IMS 2.4 Gal tank MOD, however IMS has told me on the phone that they never made a larger then stock tank for the Suzuki RM100 and that their larger then stock tank for the KX100 (2.4 Gal) will never fit the RM100 because the KX100 frame is different then the RM100.
So my question dear friends is, has anyone out there had experience or witnessed the install of an IMS 2.4 Gal tank onto a 03/04 Suzuki RM100 or have interchanged them between the KX100 and RM100, or does anyone know of a larger then stock tank that will fit the RM100. I am trying to avoid purchasing a tank that wont fit before purchasing.
