Default Please help with my 88 GSXR750

Hi i have an 88 GSXR750 with 36000k's on the clock which has developed a problem where after half hour of highway riding it develops a terrible miss and will not idle (it sounds like it drops a cylinder) sometimes it will only last a few minutes and other times it will last all day, but i can start it the next day and ride it around town all day and its fine but as soon as you do a highway ride it always does it.
I have taken it to two different bike shops the first one flushed the fuel tank and drained and balanced the carbys and it was worse than before i took it there, the second shop rebuilt and re-balanced the carbys and changed the air filter it was better but it still develops the same miss it always had.
Please help as i have already spent a $800 and the problem has not improved i am ready to sell my beloved bike and go back to driving a car.

my bike was missing all the time after i rolled it on after 100km/h and my batter wouldnt hold a charge. It was my stator, i have yet to get it and find out if the problem is gone but i sure hope that the regulator isn't involved. Electrical problems are bad to deal with. Get a manual for your bike and do the tests on the regualtor, rectifier and the stator cause they would play a role in the miss.... Could also be fuel filter, fuel petcock, octance of the fuel, and check compresion, dirty airfilter, not big enough jets for wide open...iuno im new to certain bikes just wanna help
