I'm due for my first scheduled maitenance for my '05 katana 600 and I'm getting conflicting info. The dealer where I bought my bike from wants to charge me $500 for my first maint. because they say they need to do the valve adjustments on it. I called another suzuki dealer and they said that it's too soon to do any valve adjustments and they would only charge $175 for the maint. I still think $175 is too high but maybe I am wrong. What are your opinions on this and do I need to do a valve adjustment in my first maintenance? My manual did not specify that I needed to do this. And what is the normal range for the cost of the first maintenance? Thanks in advance for your help.
