Hi everybody, I just purchased a 1993 GSXR 750, its looks real good and sounds real good but, on the day I picked it up to ride it home, I felt it wanting to stall on take off, something like when you start running out of fuel, on take off it sounds like its dying or something for around 15-30 seconds until it kicks off and comes good as if nothing is wrong, well it did that to me a few times on the first day (wensday) i havent rode it since then until today (sunday) and my ride lasted for around half an hour b4 it started doing it again except this time she accually died on me, yep cause this time it didnt clear out and I got a flat battery trying to kick it over, so i had to push start it, worked ok and rode 1 km and died again, the second push start didnt work (maybe cause my battery is flat trying to start it). I ask the mechanic who sold me the bike on behalf of the owner, and said that it had been sitting in his workshop for sometime and just probably needs a good run (i dont think so) my guess its got something to do with the carbs! but he reckons that he balanced them (what ever that means) I dont know where to start, if I brought a new battery (may not be needed) cause it maybe the charger/alternator, I havent riden a bike in 15 years since I got T-Boned on my Honda CBX 750 Four. Plz help with any ideas to where you would start to look, thank you all. ps.. I havent got a manual yet but purchased one on eBay waiting for it to arrive. Tom. |
